This image shows Drill Induced Fractures. These fractures are characterized by short vertical extent, irregular shape, and often seen on one side of the hole. They are produced on the wellbore wall by the drilling process and aligned with the principal stress direction of the stratigraphic sequence. The horizontal sinusoids are the bedding planes.
